Offline reading

Save the Snap Synapse archive to this device and read it with no connection: every page, the Signals & Subtractions issues, the Doable Change notes, the book chapters.

What it costs

• A download of about a few MB (the pages and files).
• The first save needs a connection and a few seconds. There is no progress bar; this page reports when it is done.
• Podcast audio is not included. The episodes run 25 to 46MB each and would be ten times the size of everything else combined.
• Embedded video from other sites will not play offline. Nothing on this page can change that.
• Everything saved here is already public, but it does sit on this device until you remove it.
• iOS clears an unused site's storage after roughly a week. Opening the site while connected refills it.

On an iPhone or iPad

Adding the site to the home screen gives it its own separate storage. Turning offline reading on in Safari does not carry into the home-screen icon. Add the icon first, open it, come back to this page inside it, and press Save again while connected.
